COMMITTEE MEMBER (2010-2012)
ERIK FISCHER
Houston, Texas
I have climbed a lot at Enchanted Rock over the years and I would like to take this opportunity to give back to the climbing community by joining the CTCC. I enjoy every type of rock climbing. However, in my opinion there is nothing better than traditional rock climbing. I feel it the most challenging and rewarding type of climbing.
Until a few years ago mountaineering was my primary focus. I have climbed numerous mountains in Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico and the US. I have taken courses though the American Alpine Institute in glacier travel and crevasse rescue and have also taking courses at the Andes Climbing School in Ecuador.
My goals for joining the committee are: continued rock climber access to Enchanted Rock, maintaining a good working relationship with TPWD, and maintaining a good relationship with the climbing community of Enchanted Rock.
